Cognac-Glazed Duck Breast with Orange Zest
A luxurious dish that combines the richness of duck with the bright citrusy flavors of orange zest for a gourmet experience.
Ingredients:
– 2 duck breasts, skin-on
– 1/4 cup Cognac
– 2 tbsp honey
– 1 orange, zest only
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Score the duck skin in a criss-cross pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. Season generously with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place duck breasts skin-side down and cook for 5-6 minutes until skin is crispy.
3. Flip the duck breasts and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Remove from the pan and let rest.
4. In the same skillet, pour in the Cognac and honey. Stir and let cook for 1 minute.
5. Return the duck breasts to the skillet, spooning the glaze over them. Add orange zest on top.
6. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, basting the duck with the glaze until glossy and caramelized.
7. Slice the duck breasts and serve with extra glaze drizzled on top. Enjoy!
