Dubu Jorim (Braised Tofu) with Gochujang
Indulge in the bold and spicy flavors of Korean cuisine with this delightful Dubu Jorim featuring tender braised tofu soaked in a fiery gochujang sauce!
Ingredients:
– 16 oz firm tofu, sliced into cubes
– 2 tbsp soy sauce
– 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
– 1 tbsp sesame oil
– 1 tbsp brown sugar
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 green onion, chopped
– 1 tsp sesame seeds
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions:
1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, brown sugar, and garlic to make the marinade.
2. Place tofu in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Gently toss to coat and let it marinate for 20 minutes.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
4. Add marinated tofu and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Pour water into the skillet, cover, and simmer for another 10 minutes.
6. Uncover and continue cooking until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu, about 5 minutes.
7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving hot with steamed rice.
