Ingredients

Scale
  • Flank Steak Marinade:
    • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
    • 1/4 cup olive oil
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Steak Preparation:
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Steak:
    • In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, honey, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
    • Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag, ensuring the steak is well coated.
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight for maximum flavor.
  2. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Prepare the Steak for Baking:
    • Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels.
    • In a small bowl, mix the paprika, onion powder, and ground cumin. Rub this spice mix evenly over both sides of the steak.
  4. Bake the Steak:
    • Place the steak on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check:
      • Rare: 120-125°F (49-52°C)
      • Medium-Rare: 130-135°F (54-57°C)
      • Medium: 140-145°F (60-63°C)
      • Medium-Well: 150-155°F (65-68°C)
      • Well-Done: 160°F (71°C) and above
  5. Rest and Slice:
    • Remove the steak from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
    • Slice the steak thinly against the grain for the best texture and tenderness.

Notes

  • Marinating Time: For the best flavor, marinate the steak overnight.
  • Cooking Time: Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the steak and your preferred doneness.
