Pan-Seared Halibut with Lemon-Caper Sauce
A zesty and elegant dish that perfectly balances the delicate flavor of halibut with a tangy lemon-caper sauce.
Ingredients:
– 4 halibut fillets (6 oz each)
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 2 tbsp unsalted butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/2 cup chicken broth
– 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
– 2 tbsp capers, drained
– 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Directions:
1. Pat dry the halibut fillets and season with salt and pepper. Dredge the fillets in flour, shaking off any excess.
2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the halibut fillets for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute. Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, and capers. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly reduced.
4. Return the halibut fillets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cook for another minute to heat through.
5. Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
