Peach Upside Down Cake

Ingredients:
– 4 large ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 cup milk
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
2. Arrange the sliced peaches in the bottom of the pan, drizzle with melted butter, and sprinkle brown sugar over the top.
3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
4. In another bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, and mix until smooth.
6. Pour the batter over the peaches in the cake pan and spread evenly.
7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
