Turkey Bolognese Sauce
This twist on a classic Bolognese sauce swaps out the traditional beef for flavorful ground turkey, making it a lighter and equally delicious option!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1 onion, diced
2 carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
1 cup chicken broth
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
2. Add diced onion, carrots, celery, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
4. Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
6. Serve the turkey bolognese sauce over cooked pasta of your choice.
